On Friday the 11th of November at 20:15 the Philips Harmonie Orkest and Quadrivium\u2019s Student Wind Orchestra Auletes will host a collaboration concert at the Muziekgebouw Frits Philips in Eindhoven. And with a \u2018collaboration concert\u2019 we really mean collaborating in the literal sense of the word: besides some pieces performed by the orchestras separately, there will also be several pieces performed by both orchestras together as one large project orchestra. A very special collaboration that will result in over 100 musicians on one stage!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Philips Harmonie, as the name suggests, finds its origin in the company Philips, and is with more than 50 members one of the most successful company orchestras from Europe. Both the Philips Harmonie and ESMG Quadrivium thank their existence to some extent to Philips, creating a special bond between the two associations. Besides this, Auletes members regularly continue making music at the Philips Harmonie after they have finished their studies at TU\/e, and vice versa members from the Philips Harmonie are regularly asked to play along as guest musicians during Auletes concerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, to put an emphasis on this connection, Auletes and the Philips Harmonie will unite as one large project orchestra during this unique concert. In addition to this, Auletes\u2019 very own clarinetist Vera Nijhuis and also saxophonist Victor Slegt will perform solo pieces with the Philips Harmonie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
