On the 20th of November, symphony orchestra Ensuite will take you on a journey to show the intricate connection of music to nature, through “An Ode to the Seasons”. For years, composers have taken inspiration from the seasons to write incredibly moving pieces. Under guidance of conductor Gerrit Maas, Ensuite will perform an evening with beautiful music.

During the concert, we move through the seasons. First, Grieg celebrates the different aspects of automn with In Autumn. Winter is then represented in both Tchaikovsky’s nutcracker ballet as well as the Snow Maiden Suite of Rimsky-Korsakov, who both capture the warmth of the season, as well as the more chilly side. The beginnings of spring are illustrated by Sibelius in his Spring Song and the joy of summer can be felt through Márquez’ Danzón no. 2.
