Wind orchestra Auletes
Wind orchestra Auletes consists of about 50 musicians, mostly TU/e and Fontys student, but also from elsewhere. Auletes is conducted by the young and enthusiastic Paul van Gils, and every year the orchestra plays a variety of challenging pieces, often around exciting themes or for special occasions. For example, the orchestra has played in the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, performed a colourful concert in Theaters Tilburg, and went to Enschede for a collaboration with the student wind orchestra of the University of Twente. Also, Auletes regularly performs on campus at the TU/e. The repertoire can vary from Bernstein to Holst.
Together with Paul van Gils, we turn rehearsals into a fun and educational moment each week. After the rehearsal, the fun continues in the bar, where everyone is more than welcome to join for a drink. New musicians are always very welcome to come and play or listen to one of the rehearsals. Wind instruments, percussionists but also basses and a harp are part of the orchestra. We are especially looking for (bass) clarinet, horn, percussion and bassoon players. If you are curious, send an email and we will set a chair for you!
Wind orchestra Auletes rehearses on Thursdays from 19:30 until about 22:15. The location of the rehearsals is the Luna building on the campus of the university. After the rehearsal the bar is always opened!
